Genres: Fantasy, Paranormal, Science Fiction, Young Adult
Percy Jackson isn’t expecting freshman orientation to be any fun. But when a mysterious mortal acquaintance appears on campus, followed by demon cheerleaders, things quickly move from bad to diabolical.
In this latest installment of the blockbuster series, time is running out as war between the Olympians and the evil Titan lord Kronos draws near. Even the safe haven of Camp Half-Blood grows more vulnerable by the minute as Kronos’s army prepares to invade its once impenetrable borders. To stop them, Percy and his demigod friends must set out on a quest through the Labyrinth-a sprawling underground world with stunning surprises at every turn. Full of humor and heart-pounding action, this fourth book promises to be their most thrilling adventure yet.
BATTLE OF THE LABYRINTH is the fourth book in the Percy Jackson series. This one introduced a lot of new characters, motives, and locations and I found it very entertaining.
The Titan lord Kronos is rising, creating an army of others to go up against the Olympians and get revenge. His first target is Camp Half Blood, and the only entrance they can use is a secret one through the Labyrinth, a maze created by the great inventor, Daedalus. Percy, Annabeth, Tyson, and Grover are on a mission to stop Luke and Kronos from getting into Camp Half Blood and navigating the Labyrinth.
One thing I really like about this book, and series as a whole, is how there are so many subplots that weave into the main story. These books are never boring.
Annabeth finally comes to her senses about Percy, and we finally see their relationship progress romantically. It’s about time she opened her eyes and got over Luke!
Nico makes an appearance, and has a larger role in this book. I’ve got to say, his powers seem so awesome he kinda makes Percy look weak in comparison.
I really liked all the action in this one and I know the last book is going to have even more. Everyone says it is the best book out of all of them, I can’t wait to read it!
