Now that the ley lines around Cabeswater have been woken, nothing for Ronan, Gansey, Blue, and Adam will be the same.

Meanwhile, some very sinister people are looking for some of the same pieces of the Cabeswater puzzle that Gansey is after…
Bec and I both recently finished THE DREAM THIEVES and instead of writing two reviews we decided to just chat about it. We kept it spoiler free so everyone can read it, and if you have already read the book-you’ll know exactly what we mean! Check out our other chat reviews!
Alise: Shall we talk Thieves of Dreams?
Rebecca: You are going to have to prompt me cause I read it a month ago
but still remember enough to fangirl
Alise: Um um um
Rebecca: THE PRESSURE IS ON YOU
Rebecca: It’s such a good book picking a place to start is hard
Rebecca: I understand
Alise: Do you think it was better than the first book?
Rebecca: MORE RONAN
Rebecca: AND DARKNESS
Rebecca: AND ADAM
Rebecca: AND FEELS
Rebecca: AND SUSPENSE
Alise: TEAM GANSEY
Rebecca: AND ROMANCE
Rebecca: How did you like The Grey Man btw?
Alise: OKAY, HE WAS AWESOME.
Rebecca: I thought I wouldn’t like him but he ended up being really interesting
Alise: SO MYSTERIOUS
Rebecca: AND NOW I THINK OF THE ENDING AND ADKSHFJKHSKHDKJSHFK
Rebecca: It was worse than Raven Boys in terms of cliffhanger & WTFness
Alise: ANOTHER terrible cliffhanger
Rebecca: it’s pretty brilliant
Rebecca: and shocking
Alise: Terrible that we have to wait with so many questions
Rebecca: just WHY OCTOBER FOR BOOK 3??? (Or is it November?)
Alise: I liked the twist
Rebecca: This series is so good with twists
Rebecca: You’re never entirely sure about where it’s going
Alise: It SO is. Maggie has like the best imagination.
Rebecca: speaking of RONAN’S STORY LINE AND LIFE
Alise: So creative.
Alise: I actually didn’t care too much for Ronan until this book because we get to see so much more into his personality and family. I ended up really liking him in the end.
Rebecca: I LOVED HIM IN BOOK ONE
Rebecca: AND THIS HAD SO MANY FEELS
Alise: Ahaaaaaaa I didn’t xD
Alise: But now I do.
Rebecca: Adam was another character with brilliant growth
Rebecca: It was so painful to read his parts because I felt so bad for him
Alise: Gosh, I know
Rebecca: But the place he finds himself (mentally) at the end is just wonderful
Alise: Yeah, he really grows into himself
Rebecca: He does
Rebecca: Another thing I was glad about: More psychics
Rebecca: Maura, Persephone, and Calla know more than what they’re letting on
Alise: They always do
Rebecca: And I am very intrigued by their role
Alise: Persephone especially played a much bigger role
Rebecca: She did and it was great. She’s the most mysterious of them
Rebecca: I want to know what’s up with this “time is circular” thing
Alise: Yeah, the mysterious what has happened before has already happened thing
Rebecca: and them finding weird objects from times they shouldn’t be (VERY SPECIFIC SPOILERY THINGS)
Alise: Who do you like with Blue better?
Rebecca: THOUGH THAT SCENE WITH NOAH GAVE ME SO MANY FEELS
Alise: OH MY GOSH YES
Alise: SO UNEXPECTED
Alise: BUT PERFECT
Alise: AND SAD
Rebecca: pretty sure I almost cried
Alise: I love the “In that moment, Blue was a little in love with all of them. Their magic. Their quest. Their awfulness and strangeness. Her raven boys.” quote
Alise: I think it sums up all their relationships perfectly
Rebecca: IT DOES
Rebecca: Speaking of relationships, I LOVE GANSEY’S FAMILY
Rebecca: They’re all hilarious and generous and accidently offending peope with their offhand comments that make it sound like they don’t care about their wealth
Alise: Yeah, they truly care for each other and seem like good people
Rebecca: I’m glad they’re not some stuck up rich people stereotype
Alise: I don’t think there is a single cliche or stereotype in this series at all. It is so original and well thought out
Rebecca: NOPE there isn’t
Rebecca: that’s what I love about Maggie’s writing
Rebecca: all her stories are unique and magical
Rebecca: with such fantastic characters
Rebecca: even the minor ones
Rebecca: I feel like we need to talk about Kavinsky
Alise: especially the minor ones
Rebecca: He messed with my head
Alise: Oh yes
Alise: He turned into a major player
Rebecca: He’s as mysterious and twisty as the story line
Alise: and DRAGON
Rebecca: AND THE LITERAL NIGHTMARES
Rebecca: WAS NOT EXPECTING
Rebecca: Such a cool aspect to add
Rebecca: If all this is happening now, what happens when they find Glendower?
Alise: I’m sure there will be a huge twist
Rebecca: How much awesome can you pack into 4 books the levels are already off the charts halfway?
Rebecca: Definitely will be big twists. Nothing in this series is what it seems
Rebecca: DO YOU KNOW WHAT WE”VE FORGOTTEN ABOUT
Alise: I love animal companions in YA
Rebecca: And how unique is a raven?
Alise: A lot
Alise: I loved how Ronan took her everywhere with him :)
Rebecca: (and she’s more than just a raven but spoilers. I STILL CAN”T BELIEVE THAT ASPECT AND THE TWISTS IT CAME WITH)
Rebecca: Ronan and Chainsaw were just amazing
Alise: So. Overall amazing book and definitely worth a read even if you were hesitant about the first book.
Rebecca: Though I think you’d need to like twisty plots and unanswers revealed slowly over time to enjoy it
Rebecca: If you don’t like being left hanging A LOT and having lots of questions, this series will probably frustrate you
Alise: That is kind of true, that’s why the first book frustrated me. I do think The Dream Thieves was a little bit better about revealing things though
Rebecca: it did reveal a lot, but also created even more questions
Alise: ha, true
Rebecca: You just came around to your senses :P
Alise: Do you want to close the curtain?
Rebecca: We still need to come up with an official/awesome way to end these
Alise: WE ALWAYS END WITH THE CURTAIN FALLING
Rebecca: yes but
Rebecca: that’s boring
Alise: Like with the Elite. The spray of blood.
Rebecca: this was really good though we need no blood shed
Alise: [CURTAIN CLOSES WITH FALLING RAVEN FEATHERS] Yes?
