December 2016 Wrap Up

January 2, 2017 Meme 10

It appears 2016 has come to an end…. whaaaat??? It passed so quickly and both Alise and I were so slack we barely read. Oops.

One month of rotations are complete and my two weeks of holidays have just ended! It was nice to have a break… in which I didn’t read. Oops. Well I did read at the end (finally got to reread Heir of Fire and Queen of Shadows, and as of writing this I’m about to start Empire of Storms EEP!).

What I have been doing is playing video games! My sister recently bought a PS4 and I got dragged into the world of Dishonored and Uncharted (I finished the first 3 games in less than a week). For my birthday I received Dishonored 2 and Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate. And then I went and bought Uncharted for and Assassin’s Creed: The Ezio Collection.

Now that I finally pulled myself out of a gaming mood, I’m hoping to read lots more during my next placement, but the games are so very hard to resist!

I didn’t get any books for Christmas (they’ve been ordered and should arrive next month!) but I did get some for my birthday thanks to myself.

Now it’s totally and complete official – I have graduated Summa Cum Laude from my state’s university with a Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Information Technology. That’s seventeen years of schooling. Will I ever get a break? Doubtful. Now to get A Job so I can buy books “support myself.”

Although I’ve had a little bit more time to read, I’ve mainly been sleeping, hanging out with friends, and playing video games. (Bec and I are a bad influence on each other.) Something that has surprised even myself – I didn’t buy any books over the holiday! I actually didn’t even get any as gifts either, but I think that’s because I’m waiting for all those awesome 2017 releases. I did, however, get some books to review!

How was your December?
Did you get any books for the holidays?
Are you excited for the new year?

    Congratulations on graduating, Alise!!
Hope you both had a wonderful new year!
I didn’t get any books for the holidays either *side eye*, but my sister did gift me a new Nook tablet, which I’m trying to get the hang of. I’ve mainly used my iPad for ereading so it’s not much of a difference, but the Nook is a lot smaller.

It was a pretty quiet new year but that’s what I like best XD An ereader is like hundreds of books as a present! I hope you get the hang of it soon!

OMG my brother got PS4 for Christmas too and we played Uncharted for four days. And I want to play it again, that’s how much I loved it.
Congratulation on getting your degree Alise. I’m graduating this summer with a Master’s degree and I’m terrified of looking for a job and getting into adult world. Btw, Wayfarer has such a beautiful cover! *sighs* I want to read Passenger this month so hopefully I’m going to like it. I got one book for Christmas and that’s Frost like Night and I can’t wait to finish the series. :)

Uncharted is such a fantastic series!! The story is just fantastic.

Passenger is good! I hope you like it :D

I got the Fantastic Beasts screenplay from my sister, but people tend to NOT give me books for things because they don’t know what I already have or they just think I already own too many I have yet to read (which is true! haha)

It is hard to give bookworms books as presents haha. I tend to give different people different lists without any overlap to get the best chances of new books I want haha

    Congratulations on graduating Alise!!! :D

I had a really slack December bookish-wise. The weather was bad so it cut into my audiobooks reading during my commute to and from work. (Snow-storms require all my concentration O.O and listening to a story doesn’t work then) and my physical read ended up being ignored despite being a good read…I’ve been ‘reading’ it for over a month and it could’ve been read in a week. Sigh. Hopefully we’ll all become much more bookish again in the new year. Although I haven’t played video games in a bit and I’ve been craving to do so XD

I cannot imagine having to drive through a snowstorm! There’s no way audiobooks could be listened to during that. Would much rather stay on the road haha.

Sounds like you’re in a little bit of a slump? It sucks when it hits in the middle of a good book. Hopefully you can get around to finishing it soon :)
