I’m very intrigued with Cruel Beauty and Uninvited. Although Sophie Jordan’s other book Firelight wasn’t really appealing to me…I think Uninvited seems more promising than it. Can’t wait for your reviews of them, Alise!! I’ve also needed to try Rainbow Rowell — never read one of her books but the one that seems the most interesting is Fangirl cause well, I’m a fangirl myself :P

Bec that is a HUGE haul I REALLY want to start those series right now — especially Lunar Chronicle because I looove retellings. A few weeks ago I actually saw Champion at the bookstore but too bad they have run out Legend :(

I am intrigued by those as well, and am jealous of Alise… FANGIRL is amazing!

I didn’t realise how bad my book buying was until I saw this post… Lunar Chronicles if fantastic! Maybe buy legend online? It’s a good dystopian series :)

  2. Kayla Elizabeth

I am sure you have heard/seen the hype around Fangirl, so I won’t go any further than OMG IT IS AMAZING ;)

This week I ended up with three books- two ARCs from both Edelweiss and NetGalley and then one I purchased via for my Nook. The two ARCs are Afterparty by Ann Redisch Stampler and Finding Home by Lauren K. McKellar. And then the Nook book I purchased is called If He Had Been With Me by Laura Nowlin!

The only books you have that I’ve heard of is Afterparty. The others are new to me. I hope you enjoy them :)

  3. Christy @ Christy's Book Addiction

Wow, amazing haul!! I see so many books that I can’t wait to get my hands on, The Fiery Heart, Champion, Pawn, Scarlet. And a bunch of ones that I love, Crash Into You, Allegiant, Countdown, The Fault In Our Stars, Fangirl :D I hope you enjoy your new lovelies!

I haven’t had time to read Kinslayer nor World After yet, but I’m looking forward to both!

I have seen Fangirl on several blogs today – I hope it’s as good as it seems :) Great pre-Christmas haul. I hope you’ll both enjoy all your new books.

    Have a wonderful weekend.

I just started World After, it’s good. Kinslayer is waiting until I reread Stormdancer.

Oh we will enjoy them :)

    • Bec

Thanks! It was the last novella he had with him that day. I was so happy I managed to get it! I can’t wait to get to The Fiery Heart (how have I managed to put it off?) and These Broken Stars!

    • Bec

Doesn’t it! Alise does an amazing job with the design.

Thanks! The ending of The Iron Traitor was brutal. Pawn and Crash into you are FANTASTIC. I cannot wait to start TBS :)

  5. Delaney

Eeep! You got The Monster Calls and The Fault in Our Stars! Both I am definitely curious to read. I remember reading Alise’s review and well I really want to see what i think…considering hype books do not favor me…But you guys get/buy so many books! So jealous! And those figurines behind A Monster Calls…is it Magica Madoka and Sword Art Online characters?

Hope you enjoy all your books, gurls! And your background for your blog looks beautiful! Reminds me so much of spring that is coming up. ^^

TFIOS is AMAZING. The Monster Calls I have yet to read…

I have a serious problem when it comes to book buying. Alise has more restraint.

There’s SAO, Soul Eater, and Fairy Tail plush toys :)

  6. Emma @ Spun With Words

This is such a great haul! That special edition of TFIOS looks so pretty.

I read and reviewed an eARC of Cruel Beauty as well. It wasn’t exactly to my liking, but then again, it’s not my type of book either. I also have an ARC of Uninvited but have yet to read it.

Thanks for stopping by Spun With Words!

It is one of the most gorgeous books on my shelf. So shiny *__*

I’m so jealous of you. I’ve been dying to read Cruel Beauty. And it sound like my type of book so I’m hoping I’ll enjoy it if I ever get to read it :)

  7. Charlotte @ Thoughts and Pens

Yay! I think I am going to drown from all of these books. I already have Uninvited and Cruel Beauty months ago.

And I am looking forward to your review of These Broken Stars, Crash Into You and Allegiant. The first two have become my favorite books for 2013. As for Allegiant, it was meh for me.

Have fun reading, Alise and Bec!

I am drowning in all these books XD

Crash Into You and Allegiant reviews will be in a video I filmed last week but haven’t edited yet (it’s going to be looooong). I haven’t read These Broken Stars yet.

    • Bec

I can’t wait to see what Alise thinks of Cruel Beauty either. It’s on my desperate for list.

All my books are from a month or two. And I’d just finished uni so I was buying ALL THE THINGS. I will probably love the majority (seeing as they’re sequels in my favourite series)

  8. Cait

There is waaaaay too much awesome in this post!! EEEEK! I’m loving that edition of TFiOS. And of course, gaaaah, Allegiant….!! I’m 80% through (been reading ALL day) and the feels are kicking in. I wasn’t a fan of Uglies, but I still think it’s a must-read. House of Ivy and Sorrow, though?? WOW!!! This is one heck of a haul. Hope you enjoy! :) Thanks for stopping by my StS!

    • Bec

I know right! And most of it is on my own bookshelf XD

You have many more feels to come with Allegiant. I hope you survive :)

Thanks for returning the comment :D

    • Bec

I just finished World After and it was great! All the others I cannot wait to read either, except Uninvited because I don’t have it *sobs*

  9. michelle

you both got awesome books this week. i’m so excited to read champion myself. i pre-ordered it but i had it sent home instead of at student housing in school and it’s been torture waiting for winter break to come. enjoy all your books and happy reading :)

hope you can stop by my StS/Sunday post.

Ah, that would be torture! I’ve been reading too many other books to have time for Champion, but I can’t wait to read it and see how it wraps up the series :)

  10. Sunny

I definitely didn’t get as many books as you both did (I squealed over your haul), but I decided to do the same! Much easier. Your hardcovers made me giddy (The Fault in Our Stars…*sobs*) and your galleys (Uninvited!). Happy reading :)

    • Bec

ahaha, I have a problem you see. And my family is getting tight on money now so I won’t be able to buy as many, even for Christmas :(

  11. Kim @ Kimberly's Novel Notes

Wow, so many great books!! I don’t know where to start this comment. I’m so jealous for Cruel Beauty, it looks so great!! I hope you like it :D.
I still need to read the Raven Cycle series. I’ve heard nothing but praise for the first and second books in that series.
I can’t wait to see what you think of Attack on Titian. My brother is currently watching the anime and he has mixed feelings about it.
Hope you like all of your new books :D and thanks for stopping by at my StS.

I am jealous of Alise’s Cruel Beauty too. It needs to be in my life.

Raven Cycle is amazing! Attack on Titan I loved! I’ve caught up in the manga and the anime and it’s become one of my favourites. I really should do a post about it…

I shall try my best to like them (shouldn’t be too hard)

    • Bec

I’m so glad you liked them! It makes me more excited to read them when I get to them (which should be soon cause I’m flying through them)

I hope you get a copy of Uninvited one day!

    • Bec

Thanks! Pawn was great, and i have yet to read the others you mentions.

Angelfall is honestly one of the best series I have ever read ever. Countdown on the otherhand…. eeeeehhhhh didn’t really like it. You might enjoy it more than I did though :)

  12. Lauren @ Lose Time Reading

WOW, what a fabulous post ladies :) I’m currently reading Pawn and it is SOOOO good, I hope you love it too!!! Crash Into You of course was fantastic… I need to read Legend so soon… especially since the whole series is out now! I hope you enjoy your books! Happy Reading and thanks for stopping by my blog :)

Thank you! Ooh, now I’m really excited to read Pawn, I LOVE a good dystopia. Yeah, I am so behind on the Legend series too. Enjoy your holidays!

  13. Kate @ whYAnot

    Love the books!
My Stormdancer and Kinslayer books are all lovely and signed now too – thanks to Supanova :D How awesome is Jay Kristoff?

I bought a copy of World After this week too. Had a weak moment in the book section of Big W :P
Hope the rest of the month brings you more fantastic book and that you enjoy reading your December haul so far!

I didn’t have Kinslayer at the time, so I’ll have to get it done next Supanova. He’s pretty awesome.

I bought it online, but bought it in Big W for my friend for Christmas. It’s really weird seeing it there because their book range isn’t normally that fantastic (though still better than other stores).

Thank! Hope you get some more good books too :)

    • Bec

Thanks! I have a Canon Ixus 135 digital camera or something (I forget what the actual number is). It takes pretty good photos (it’s not that great at much else), and I edit them on Photoshop.

  14. Suz @ A Soul Unsung

Oh my gosh, you guys got some AH-MAZING books for December. There’s waaaay too many of them that I want in that stack to mention them all, but THESE BROKEN STARS BROKE MY FEELS! I ended up with a few really good ones that I wanted too, This Song Will Save Your life, which I’m dying to read. And, also Days of Blood and Starlight, to name a couple. :)
