February 2017 Wrap Up

February 28, 2017 Meme 22

February is so short, it feels weird doing a wrap up for it. Especially since both Alise and I have been so busy we haven’t had much time to put into the blog. Hopefully more time arises soon!

My month can be summed up with one word: assignments. Uni has taken over again, which is nothing new. I’ve been busy with rotations, and even when I had some rare free time I’ve been trying to get ahead on assignments. So much uni stuff to do, so little time. Despite lack of time my TBR has been unintentionally growing intensely! And not due to an active role on my part. Publishers just keep surprising me!

  • STRANGE THE DREAMER by Laini Taylor on Netgally
  • THE SECRET SCIENCE OF MAGIC by Melissa Keil (thanks Hardie Grant Egmont!)
  • NIGHT SWIMMING by Steph Bowe (thanks Text!)

My TBR is out of CONTROL for March! I’ve heard good things about Strange the Dreamer, too, I’ll be interested to hear if you liked it!

What is time?? I’m on the rotation that is jokingly called “patholiday” but PATHOLIDAY IS A LIE. I have so much work to do T__T Hopefully it gives me enough time to get to Strange the Dreamer at least

Wow! It sounds like you both read a ton of great books this month! I’m glad you enjoyed them all so much. :) And Bec – good luck with uni! I know how stressful all those assignments can be. xx Thanks for sharing and, as always, fabulous recap! <3

I wish I could have read MORE great books! What is time???

There is so much to do it’s insane. If I was better at utilising my time I could be so much further with them all but alas :/

    • Bec

I was so excited when I was approved!! I can’t believe it. I hope I get to read it soon.

Staying ahead really helps, especially when exams hit later in the year. Unfortunately it’s a struggle at the moment :/

Ah I’m so sorry to hear uni has been taking up all your time! I’ve got exams in 2-3 months and so I’ve started intensely studying my subjects and I doubt I’ll have much time to read now until June. *cries*

EEK Strange the Dreamer! <3 I can't wait to read it – I love Laini Taylor!

Uni sucks sometimes. Good luck with your exams!

I hope we both love STRANGE THE DREAMER as much as we love all her other books

Oooooh, I can’t wait to get my hands on Strange the Dreamer. Laini Taylor’s such a talented writer, and if her new series is just as complex and nuanced as the Daughter of Smoke & Bone series, I’m sure I’ll love it! Also, the cover for The Secret Science of Magic is absolutely stunning. I’ll have to look into it. :P

    Great post! x

She is such an amazing author! I remember her giving us the tease of “1920s New York” when she was in Brisbane for a Writers Festival and have been looking forward to her next novel ever since! I hope we love it

It’s a short month, but that seemed TOO short!

I just started Strange the Dreamer and I already love it despite only being 10% in haha
