July 24, 2016 Discussion, Tag 32

aliseHello friends and strangers! I got tagged to do the Get to Know Me tag by Sinead over at Less Reality More Books. As always, thank you for tagging me, I love tags! (Even if it takes me months to do them aaaaha sorry) Also, I’m not a huge fan of giving out my info on the great Interwebs so forgive me for being a bit vague!

Basics

Name: Alise (Or is it? The world may never know)

Nicknames: I’ve never really had a nickname, although one of my grandmothers call me Charlie for absolutely no reason.

Birthday: The hottest part of June.

Star Sign: Cancer.

Occupation: Student. I am currently going into my final semester in order to graduate with a degree in Graphic Information Technology,

Appearance

ken

Hair color: Naturally light brown with reddish undertones. I’ve dyed it just about every “regular” color, though.

Hair length: It used to be pretty long but now I keep it short (shoulder-length) because I’m lazy.

Eye color: Light golden brown.

Best feature: Eyes. (And my winning personality *cue laughter*)

Braces: Got them off like seven years ago. Broke my retainer on one side but I still wear it. (Update: it has now totally broken) Such fragile little things.

Piercings: Just one on each ear, no plans for more.

Tattoos: None, but I would like one or two in the future.

Right or left handed: Right.

Firsts

Best friend: Since I haven’t seen or talked to my first friend in like sixteen years, I going to go with my co-blogger this time, Bec.

Award: I’ve never won anything outside of school but I regularly got awards for being on the Principle’s and Dean’s List both in high school and college. I actually graduated from high school as the Valedictorian and won first place in the science fair. (Clearly, I am a genius)

glasses

Sport: I tried volleyball once. That was not fun.

Real holiday: Outside of family, I went to California with a real life friend a few years ago.

Concert: I’ve still never been to a concert! I would like to see Adele, Sia, Florence + the Machine, or Lana Del Rey though.

Favorites

Films: I recently saw the new Jungle Book, and thought it was fabulous. Outside of that, I usually enjoy anything by Marvel and am a sucker for the Keira Knightley Pride & Prejudice.

TV Shows: Korean dramas are fantastic. Other than that I keep up with The Originals and Once Upon a Time.

Colors: Blue is my favorite color.

Song: Right now it would have to be 7 Years by Lukas Graham.

Restaurant: Zinburger for sit-down, Chick-Fil-A for fast food.

Shop: H&M, Ross, Amazon, Book Outlet, Thriftbooks

Books: My most recent favorite would be A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J Maas.

Shoes: Sandals that will somewhat match whatever outfit I have on.

Currently…

Feeling: Anxious. I’m graduating in December and I have no idea what I’m going to do.

Single or Taken: Taken.

Eating: I just ate McDonald’s because I am a horrible person.

Thinking about: How I’m graduating in December and I have no idea what I’m going to do. (See a recurring theme here?)

Watching: Currently watching Descendants of the Sun.

Wearing: A casual shirt from three years back from my old workplace and sweats.

Future

Children: Yes. One time I was in this club for school that had a psychic come in and tell me I was going to have three kids. She also said I was an extremely forgiving and calm person so I take from that absolutely nothing.

Marriage: Yes.

Careers: I would like to do something with technology or literature as I love front end web development and books.

Where you want to live: I’m pretty content with wherever I go.

Do you believe in…?

God: Yes.

Miracles: Yes.

Love at first sight: I believe in connections, not insta-love.

Ghosts: 100% yes. The stories I could tell… *thinks of a post idea*

Aliens: Our world is teeny-tiny. I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s aliens out there!

Soul mates: I think so? I believe there are people out there you are meant to be with, but I also believe that could be more than one person.

Heaven/hell: Yes.

Kissing on the first date: I don’t see why not.

Yourself: This is something I definitely struggle with. I guess in some aspects, yes.

just do it

I tag…

All friends and strangers! Let me get to know you!

HA, I feel you. I was so bad the coach literally never played me which was clearly great for my self-esteem xD

Wow this was such a fun post to read! I think I might do this when I have nothing to post in the future. Nice to know a little more about you!

  2. ShootingStarsMag

Fun post! I do like getting to know random stuff about the bloggers behind the blog. It really shows you their personality or who they are OUTSIDE of blogging. Congrats on graduating soon. I know it can be nerve-wracking, but hopefully you will find a job that you really love! Don’t stress too much though. You have your whole life ahead of you! No rush.

Thanks! I think so too, I love learning little facts about people that I’m friends with haha. Oh my gosh, I’m definitely worried about that. I’m the type of person that has to be doing something they love so I’m freaking out xD

    • Alise

I think I might now xD I have so many and I love telling people that are legitimately curious. YAY fellow Cancer!

    • Alise

Thanks! Yup, it’s exactly like that. And I wouldn’t have known what Dux was if I hadn’t of had a New Zealand friend so I totally get that, haha.

This is the third one I’ve broke (from doing literally nothing, I’ve just picked it up before and it snapped) so I’m wondering if I should go to a different place because the quality isn’t that great?

      • Tyler H. Jolley

You might need a different type of retainer entirely. Let your doctor know, if they don’t have other options find a new office. If you’re breaking the “Invisalign” type it might be because you are grinding or clenching at night and don’t even know it. If that’s the case, there are special types of retainers that will not only protect your teeth but keep them aligned. In the U.S. we call them a Hawley Bite Plate. I hope this helps.

Good to know, thanks! The Hawley Bite Plate is actually the type I’ve had all three times so I think it’s time to switch offices.

  3. Kyra Morris

It was so fun getting to know more about you, Alise! I wish you luck in your post-graduation ventures! I’m very lucky in the sense that I’ve known what I’ve wanted to do since I was 12-13 and that is astrophysics! :) love the colour blue as well and ah, braces, I got mine two weeks ago and UGH.

Thank you so much! That’s pretty cool; I used to be like that with veterinary medicine then I got to college and failed chemistry SO hard so that was that xD

I had major anxiety when I was close to done Uni because like you, I had no clue what would come after. Try not to worry too much though, I know you’ll find something great ♥ I watch The Originals too and really love it. Love the colour blue, 7 years, ACOMAF and Amazon!! I’d LOVE to see Adele too OMG! Oh and the gifs here? That Ken doll one (LOL!) and then the cat with the glasses? LOVE.

This is a great tag, and it was great getting to know you better, Alise! And aaah congratulations on nearly graduating! I’m going to be a sophomore this year so I’m still quite a way away haha. I hope you figure out what you want to do next soon :) Also, a degree in Graphic Information Technology sounds so cool.
