May 2017 Wrap Up

May 30, 2017 Meme 12

Not much time for a full wrap up this month because things are hectic! Yet again I find myself wishing for an 8 day week to get more stuff done. Even just having a time turner would be useful but alas we must struggle instead.

We did have another month of regular posting though! That’s exciting. If I can get my shit together and schedule some drafts, it might continue for a bit longer! Reviews might be scarce however (it’s hard to read enough to keep ahead sometimes)

Another month, another four weeks of placement at vet clinics. This month it’s been two clinics that aren’t related to uni at all. One is a proper mixed practice (I GOT TO DO HORSE THINGS!) and another two weeks at really flash small animal GP/ hospital clinic that’s close to home (long hours but lots of interesting things).

It’s tiring work but I’m enjoying it! Finding enough time to keep up the study plus blog and read is a slight struggle. Hopefully I can find the balance soon.

Was your May as busy as ours?

What was the best book you read this month?

Sounds like it has been hectic for you Bec, but it’s good to hear that you enjoyed your placement which related to where you want to be. I can definitely relate to finding the study/blog balance and reading in between – it’s of course important to prioritise, and trying to squeeze in reading is something I find as a must to take a break. Hope your next month goes well! :)

It’s so hectic! I’m exhausted and in need of a break, as much as I’m enjoying it. The lack of balance is slowly destroying me.

It has been an equally hectic month for me as well. I had two out of town graduations for family, and work has been non-stop. I rely on audiobooks more than ever to maintain my review pace!

Audiobooks are the best way to keep up the review schedule! They’re so much faster to get through.

It’s always a busy month for me with four kids. But May is especially bad. I have a ton of patient graduations to attend. I can’t believe this months is already over. It sounds like things are getting really exciting for your Bec. You’re going to be an awesome vet.

The biggest struggle with not being able to find balance is that I’m burning out often and don’t have time to recuperate :( It will get easier once I graduate I’m sure but right now it’s fluctuating between great time on placement, and exhaustion and stress.
