it’s almost
time for war.

Juliette has escaped to Omega Point. It is a place for people like her—people with gifts—and it is also the headquarters of the rebel resistance.

She’s finally free from The Reestablishment, free from their plan to use her as a weapon, and free to love Adam. But Juliette will never be free from her lethal touch.

Or from Warner, who wants Juliette more than she ever thought possible.

In this exhilarating sequel to Shatter Me, Juliette has to make life-changing decisions between what she wants and what she thinks is right. Decisions that might involve choosing between her heart—and Adam’s life.

UNRAVEL ME was even better than its predecessor, and considering how much I loved SHATTER ME, that says a lot. I kept putting this one off and I have no idea why, because it was amazing!

Juliette is at Omega Point, a hidden compound that is staging a revolt against the Reestablishment. Even though Juliette fits in there because almost everyone has some kind of power, she still feels left out and untrusted. It’s not a good time for doubt because it’s almost time for war.

I have to say, I think I am fully Team Warner now. Adam was kind of a downer this book, and his relationship drama with Juliette didn’t interest me at all, especially when compared to how diverse Warner can be.

Warner and his dad are probably my favorite characters (after Kenji-I loved how his character developed, as well) because I just love a good villain. What makes them do what they do, their motives, etc. I’m so glad those Warner had a bigger role this novel.

This book was full of twists and turns and action, much more than the first book, and that makes it a fantastic sequel. I love the ending, it was a cliffhanger, but it also showed how much Juliette has grown as a character.

I can NOT wait for Ignite Me!

Ah, yes, there is always something alluring about a villain ;) Yeah, Adam really changed in this book. Thanks!

I have this on my shelve but like you, for some reason I just can’t bring myself to read it. Maybe it’s because I’ve heard it’s full of feels. But your review has now convinced me to make it my next read. Shame about Adam as I loved him in the first book and so badly wanted to forever hate Warner… but everyone said Unravel Me was the changing of that. Great Review:)

It really is fill of emotion. Yay, I’m so glad! I can not wait to read your review, send me a link when it’s up? :) Yeah Destroy Me really changed my mind then Unravel Me changed my mind even more :)

I adored Warner’s charisma in Shatter Me and am very hopeful of loving him more in this sequel, just as soon as I have a chance to get to it!

I loved Kenji, too! He’s actually my favorite character. haha

Warner did change, yes, but he’s far from being likable to me ;/ It’s nice that there’s a sweet side to him, but he did too many horrible things in the first book to redeem himself with a few sweet words and a change of sides. I’m not crazy for Adam, either. He should have done the good ol’ “manning up” in this one. The story was really interesting and the twists were great!

Oh, definitely. He’s not forgiven in my mind but I really like that he loves Juliette so completely, it really makes me wonder more about his personality and what makes him tick. He is just such a deep character. Yeah, Adam really should have done that-I would have liked him more if he had.

I haven’t started this series — mainly because of the bad things I heard but I’m planning to read the first book once the newer cover comes out here! That way, I will they will have matching covers :D another reviewer also pointed out that he’s on Team Warner after reading this book. I am assuming this is because of the character development..? Haha and I have a samoyed amed Kenji!! :3

      Bad reviews? *Grabs pitchfork* Where?

Aha, Bec must have matching covers too. YES, so much character development with Warner this book. Love it. Awhh :D

  6. Tanja

I admire you! You wrote a review for this one without mentioning that famous chapter ;) It seems like Warner has got a great army of female bloggers. I’m still not fully on his side but I’m getting there. Great review :)

I recently read this too and it left me with such a book hangover! I totally switched over to Team Warner too – Adam was so annoying in this one, I didn’t like how whiny he was and I just completely lost interest in his character. Kenji consolidated his place as one of my favorite characters in this series just because I loved how he called Juliette out; I needed to see that from someone!

    I can’t wait for Ignite Me either….ahh!!

Right? I so wanted to punch Adam in the face and tell him to get his act together. I feel like Kenji almost took over Adam’s role as being the strong male character. I also loved that moment. :)

  8. Andreea

I didn’t like this one as much as I liked Shatter Me because I found Juliette a little annoying. She didn’t know what she wanted and I found that she was whining way too much.

Still going to read the last one in this series though.

    Great review!

Juliette definitely had some weak moments this book and I got a bit annoyed with her sometimes too. Although I think Adam was much whinier xD

  9. Aman

YAY for Team Warner!!! *high five* I agree with everything you said! Even though I didn’t enjoy the first half of Unravel me that much, I absolutely loved all the Warner scenes. I don’t know what happened with Adam and unless he gets a novella or something, I’m not sure I would be able to understand his side. Ignite Me better release soon! I need more Warner! Fantastic review, Alise! :)

      YES! Warner 10000%
I so agree, Adam almost did a 180 with his personality. He freaked out like a little girl about his powers. I’m not sure I would want a novella though because I don’t want to be swayed back to his side xD Thanks!

  10. Sunny

YAY! Happy you switched over to Warner’s side ;) And I agree about him and his dad, I loved reading about the motives behind their twisted, villainous ways. We should form an Ignite Me party or something to pass the time away, haha!

  11. Maida

I still have to read the first book in the series and I have heard nothing but amazing things about it so I know I am going to love it. I love books that are action-packed and twisty. Plus, I love the sound of the characters! I’m so glad this was not a usual middle book, and it was actually better than the first! Hope the next one is just as good as this for you! I’m glad you enjoyed this Alise! Great review! :D

You have a bunch to look forward to, then! I hope you like the books whenever you get around to reading them. Yeah, this one definitely did not suffer from the awful sequel syndrome :D

    • Alise

Yeah, I get that. That’s why I’m pretty sure Adam is who she is going to end up with. A girl can still hope though xD

  12. Jasmine @ Flip That Page

WOOHOO I am so glad you love this book :D I mean, never for the life of me would I think of labeling Warner’s dad a favorite, but Warner himself… OH GOD. HE WAS AMAZING <3 The swoon was everywhere. I still cannot fully say which team I am on, because I loved Adam and Shatter Me and refuse to just give up on him like that, but I dunno. At least, whoever Juliette chooses in Ignite Me (CANNOT WAIT) I won't be complaining too much XD Great review!

xD Favorite only in the way he is a great villain, Warner’s dad, I mean! Warner is a favorite for a lot of reasons haha. I loved that famous chapter, so awesome. Except how it ended, I feel so bad for him. You know he’s a great character when you begin to feel sorry for a murderer ;D

    *chants* Warner, Warner Warner. :P

I honestly never really liked Adam from the get go. Before, it was just soo.. bleh. Warner has always been more complex and interesting and we knew, in a way, that there was more to him than what we first saw in Shatter Me, ya know? But I agree, Adam so MOPEY and sad I couldn’t stand it.

OH, and how about that HUGE TWIST huh? I was floored! And yes, Warner’s dad is something else.

    Great review Alise!

I did like Adam in the first book but I think I actually like Kenji over him now xD That’s exactly what I said, he seems like such a deep character! Thanks :D

    • Alise

Aha, I thought you were going to say welcome to the dark side, in which case that would actually be accurate too ;) Yeah, I really loved Kenji this book! Thanks!
