ARC Review: Siege and Storm

ARC Review: Siege and Storm

May 17, 2013 Review 16 ★★★★★

I cannot believe I won this ARC. I won an ARC of one of the most anticipated books this year. Of course, a lot can go wrong when a novel is so anticipated. There are expectations, and I know from experience what it feels like when those expectations are dashed. SIEGE AND STORM, other than being the perfect blackmail material […]

Review: Hooked

May 9, 2013 Review 17 ★★★★

Apparently I’ve been on a good streak when it comes to contemporary romance books lately. First PUSHING THE LIMITS, then DARE YOU TO, and now HOOKED. All have been great novels I struggled to put down and are making me rethink the lack of contemporary novels on my bookshelf. HOOKED is a romance that will keep you flipping through the […]

Review: Shadow and Bone

May 2, 2013 Review 19 ★★★★

I need to start this by telling you this review is for my second read through of SHADOW AND BONE. Right away the fact I reread it should tell you that it’s actually a pretty decent YA fantasy. And upon rereading I actually upped the rating by one star, even though I already knew what was going to happen. I […]

Review: Beautiful Creatures

May 1, 2013 Review 22 ★★½

Hello, all. Welcome to my dissertation on the young adult novel titled Beautiful Creatures. What better rating to give a book that you are confused about than the in-between, non-committal […]

Dual ARC (Chat) Review: Dare You To

April 16, 2013 Review 21

So Bec and I are trying a totally new thing where we actually discuss the book on Skype because we are lazy creative. You can go ahead and be jealous. But because Bec loves to give out her personal information over the internet, I had to go and remove her last name. Basically, I couldn’t screencap the skype chat so […]

Novella Review: Crossing the Line

Novella Review: Crossing the Line

April 15, 2013 Review 15 ★★★★★

I am so so glad Harlequin Australia offered this novella for free, otherwise I don’t think I would have had the opportunity to read it. Novella’s aren’t usually my thing, they seem too short to get any sort of decent plot and often seem pointless. The only thing I like about them is the background they add to the characters […]

Review: Pushing the Limits

Review: Pushing the Limits

March 14, 2013 Review 18 ★★★★½

Contemporaries could be what you call ‘guilty pleasure books’ for me. I read them when I don’t feel like focusing on a plot heavy book, when I just want a nice easy breezy read. PUSHING THE LIMITS, like all good contemporaries, did just that. It featured all the nitty gritty bits of teenagedom (drugs, sex, foul language, none of which I have actually ever encounted. Well, the language yes but not others) while simultaneously having lovely romance and ripping your heart to shreds. Read more »
