Novella Review: Crossing the Line

Novella Review: Crossing the Line

April 15, 2013 Review 15 ★★★★★

I am so so glad Harlequin Australia offered this novella for free, otherwise I don’t think I would have had the opportunity to read it. Novella’s aren’t usually my thing, they seem too short to get any sort of decent plot and often seem pointless. The only thing I like about them is the background they add to the characters […]

Novella Review: Destroy Me

April 13, 2013 Review 22

DESTROY ME is the first, and most likely only, novella I have ever purchased. I don’t really agree with paying for a short story that isn’t necessary for the overall plot, but that is another rant story. DESTROY ME was worth every penny! Who doesn’t love a good villain? I know I love villains! In every book, no matter how […]

Review: Perfect Scoundrels

April 12, 2013 Review 6 ★★★★½

I think I should start off by saying I love¬†Ally Carter. Her writing is fantastic. Always light and funny, but with a great plot line and emotional undercurrents. PERFECT SCOUNDRELS was no exception to her awesomeness. If anything, it was slightly more serious and character driven than the previous Heist Society books. But I’m more than okay with that. Especially […]

April 6, 2013 Review 20 ★★★½

Historical novels are a passion of mine. I love the past, it’s really interesting to see where society has come from and how the ideals have changed over time. However, I usually stick to pre-1900’s stuff. Once or twice I’ve read books set in World War II, sometimes World War I, but never the 1920’s until now. THE DIVINERS was […]

I have gone to start this review about three times to but have failed every single time I try to string coherent words together. How do I explain the effect this last book in one of my favourite series had on me? I loved it. I cried. I felt immense pain. Yet also happiness. It was such an emotional rollercoaster […]

March 18, 2013 Review 16

I am distraught. So very, very distraught. I finished DAYS OF BLOOD AND STARLIGHT a couple of nights ago and ever since, Why am I lying on the floor unable to function beyond dying whale noises? Because I don’t know what to do with my life. DAYS OF BLOOD AND STARLIGHT affected me deeply. I’m struggling to put into words […]

Review: Pushing the Limits

Review: Pushing the Limits

March 14, 2013 Review 18 ★★★★½

Contemporaries could be what you call ‘guilty pleasure books’ for me. I read them when I don’t feel like focusing on a plot heavy book, when I just want a nice easy breezy read. PUSHING THE LIMITS, like all good contemporaries, did just that. It featured all the nitty gritty bits of teenagedom (drugs, sex, foul language, none of which I have actually ever encounted. Well, the language yes but not others) while simultaneously having lovely romance and ripping your heart to shreds. Read more »
