Oh hey another month gone and… well, we haven’t done much.  You may have noticed the distinct lack of posts. Alise and I have two very different explanations about that. But first, what did we actually post?

September has passed so quickly for me because I’ve been studying non-stop. Exams happened, and are still happening. I feel incredibly unprepared and super stressed. This has been my constant state of being for the entire semester, and is probably going to be my general state of being for the next year.

I did get to go to BWF one weekend and meet Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff. Their talk was hilarious. Also guess who dropped their six books in the signing line! (Dropping objects in front of Jay Kristoff may be becoming tradition) Hardcovers make a really loud sound when they hit the floor you might be interested to know.

Last week I completed my Goodreads challenge! I aimed to read 50 books and managed to get there faster than usual thanks to audiobooks. Another thing I completed was the Pottermore Patronus quiz, the result of which was a great grey owl!

For the past month I have been so totally and completely sick. It was one thing after another and I found myself fighting three different viruses at one point. It was a struggle to even eat or get out of bed and I had absolutely no motivation to do anything, even read, which explains the lack of posts on my end. Add in a hectic last semester of university and I’m down for the count. Luckily, I am starting to feel better and am looking forward to reading all the new releases that have been coming out lately!

Goodies

  • EMPIRE OF STORMS by Sarah J Maas
  • Throne of Glass coloring book
  • LIKE A RIVER GLORIOUS by Rae Carson
  • CROOKED KINGDOM by Leigh Bardugo
  • THE DIABOLIC by SJ Kincaid
  • THE AMATEURS by Sara Shepard
  • THE GIRL ON THE TRAIN by Paula Hawkins
  • MISS PEREGRINE’S HOME FOR PECULIAR CHILDREN by Ransom Riggs

I hope you’ll feel better really really soon Alise, and best of luck for uni for both of you! September was pretty good, but I also struggled to find time to read and balancing my life, and I’ve been emotionally tired for the past few days, but I can’t have “me” time because I will have another hectic week ahead :( I hope you guys will have an amazing October!

What a great month! I read Empire of Storms this month as well and really enjoyed it, but I thought Queen of Shadows was better and I’m loving the coloring book too. I will admit I was not a fan of Nevernight though *hides in the corner*. Super unpopular opinion, right? I’m glad to see you enjoyed it though. :) I hope you both have a great October!

I can’t wait to read EoS! I love that series a lot.

You are a rare one haha. But there’s nothing wrong with that. Not every one is going to love every single book. We’ll just have to alienate you until you learn to conform :P

Bec- sorry to hear you are so stressed with exams and school! I do hope that things get better for you. At least you are nearing the end of the semester, right?!

Alise: Oh no! Being sick is awful. I’m glad that you are starting to feel better though. My whole family was sick a couple weeks ago but so far I’m good. *knock on wood* Hopefully that stays…

Haha the stress won’t end for a while yet. It’s becoming my standard emotion.

I really hope the sickness doesn’t get you! Stay clean!

OMG. You must’ve been mortified, Bec. Lol. Hate when that happens! But hey, at least you got to meet them again, right? I haven’t and it doesn’t look like it’s going to happen any time soon. Sigh. I wish you the best of luck with your remaining exams, Bec. I’m sure you’ll do well. :)

I’ve been sick too, Alise. I just can’t shake it. The worst part of it is that I’m unable to hear due to the ear infection I got during my illness. I’m still plugged so it sucks. Anyway, I hope you’ll feel better soon because being sick is no fun. Been there, wouldn’t want to go back.

Have a great month of October, ladies!

I actually recovered surprisingly well haha. I made a comment that I was too weak (which was true). It was so cool meeting them. And I’m sure I’m memorable because of it :P

      Thank you!

I hope you start feeling better soon :)

I really want to try out the Throne of Glass colouring book! I can see you both got it, it looks so cool!

I really need to get my hands on Like a River Glorious, I’m really intrigued to see where the story goes! I was a little disappointed at the lack of magical powers in the first book so I really hope they appear more in the sequel.

I hope you both find more time to not be stressed and stuff!

I’ve had a very brief look through the colouring book and I cannot wait to start it (but I’m waiting to finish EOS first, just in case of spoilers).

I need Like a River Glorious too! The first book was so interesting, but I agree about the powers. I NEED MORE!

Literally cannot believe September is over. How did this happen? I’m so behind on edits, and deadlines. Let’s hope October is more productive. 0_0

Sorry things are so crazy for you Bec – and only reading EoS in December is cruel, cruel indeed. And Alise wow, I’m so sorry you were so sick! Thankfully you’re feeling better but with school and everything else you must be done. At least you both have fab hauls to make you feel better! And I love how both of you have ToG-centric hauls with EoS and the Colouring Book ♥ I got both of those too of course. Sending lots of positive vibes in both your directions so that you have a smooth October that’ll be as relaxing as possible! xxxxx

The wait is painful!! Avoiding spoilers is also very difficult haha

How could we not include them in our hauls as soon as they came out haha. My body has been waiting gor so long

Things won’t calm down for a while haha, finals season is nigh! But hopefully it gets a little bit calmer.
