Series: The Periodic Series #1
Release Date: August 20th, 2013

AVERY PIKE is a commodity. No, more than a commodity. Her existence is guarded at all costs.

She’s a water Elementalist, the strongest of her dwindling kind. She creates steam to provide energy to fuel Dome Three: the only thing standing between humanity and an earth ravaged by World War III. No steam, no Dome. No Dome, no life.

Or so she thinks.

That is, until a mysterious man offers her a way out of having to donate steam. A way to escape the corrupt government of Dome Three. While the offer seems too good to be true, Avery is intrigued.

But when she arrives to her new home, she realizes the grass isn’t any less dead on this side of the fence. Instead, the lies are just hidden better.

…Which means digging deeper.

When Avery enlists the help of her friends to uncover the truth, it may make her wonder if she was better off being a government tool than searching for freedom.

Some secrets are better left concealed, but humankind was never meant to live in a cage. And when you can control the most sought after resource, you can learn to control anything…including the fate of your world.

We were lucky enough to get an ARC of STEEL LILY and will be reviewing it tomorrow, so make sure to come back!

It was pretty enjoyable :) NAMELESS was great and I’m so happy she’s continuing the retellings

Tales of Beauty and Madness is really interesting. It’s paranormal but not, sort of post apocalyptic dark paranormal fairy tale retellings… Lots of things going on.

I haven’t heard of either of these, but I’m adding them to my TBR list! The first one sounds really intriguing–I love books about people controlling the elements. And I just love the cover of Wayfarer! That is another one that sounds amazing. :)

Thanks for stopping by Part of that World :)

Oh those books sound really good! I have the first book in the Tales of Beauty and Madness, but haven’t read it it. And I love elemental novels so Steel Lily sounds so good. I going to add that to my TBR pile. Nice choice and thanks for stopping by my blog earlier. :)

I’m not really into steampunk (though maybe I should give some a try) but I actually like this cover for Steel Lily. Simple yet appealing to the eye as well. I’m really looking forward to the review so I can see how you liked it. This is the first time I am seeing Wayfarer though I recognize it as a sequel. I’ll have to look into the first book. Thanks for sharing! :)

Thanks for stopping by my post!

Steel Lily is steampunk but there’s also strong dystopian elements as you go through. The Tales of Beauty and Madness is a really good series. More people need to check it out.

  5. Samantha Stewart

Ooh, Steel Lily sounds awesome! I still need to get around to getting my hands on a copy of Nameless, but hopefully it’ll happen soon because I loved the sound of it!
Great picks! I’ll definitely be checking back for that review tomorrow! :)

I’ve seen Wayfarer around and I’m very curious to know how the cover relates to the story. It’s so freaky yet gorgeous., and the girl’s feet are white O.O I’m definitely going to check out that series. On another side note, I don’t think the synopsis for Wayfarer is right.

Steel Lily sounds really interesting, I hadn’t heard of it before! And I love the cover of Wayfarer, not my normal kind of book, but maybe the gorgeous cover will convince me to read it :)
