Release Date: November 4th, 2014

Every Day meets Cloud Atlas in this heart-racing, space- and time-bending, epic new trilogy from New York Times bestselling author Claudia Gray.

Marguerite Caine’s physicist parents are known for their radical scientific achievements. Their most astonishing invention: the Firebird, which allows users to jump into parallel universes, some vastly altered from our own. But when Marguerite’s father is murdered, the killer—her parent’s handsome and enigmatic assistant Paul—escapes into another dimension before the law can touch him.

Marguerite can’t let the man who destroyed her family go free, and she races after Paul through different universes, where their lives entangle in increasingly familiar ways. With each encounter she begins to question Paul’s guilt—and her own heart. Soon she discovers the truth behind her father’s death is more sinister than she ever could have imagined.

A Thousand Pieces of You explores a reality where we witness the countless other lives we might lead in an amazingly intricate multiverse, and ask whether, amid infinite possibilities, one love can endure.

Seraphina took the literary world by storm with 8 starred reviews and numerous “Best of” lists. At last, her eagerly awaited sequel has arrived—and with it comes an epic battle between humans and dragons.

The kingdom of Goredd: a world where humans and dragons share life with an uneasy balance, and those few who are both human and dragon must hide the truth. Seraphina is one of these, part girl, part dragon, who is reluctantly drawn into the politics of her world. When war breaks out between the dragons and humans, she must travel the lands to find those like herself—for she has an inexplicable connection to all of them, and together they will be able to fight the dragons in powerful, magical ways.

As Seraphina gathers this motley crew, she is pursued by humans who want to stop her. But the most terrifying is another half dragon, who can creep into people’s minds and take them over. Until now, Seraphina has kept her mind safe from intruders, but that also means she’s held back her own gift. It is time to make a choice: Cling to the safety of her old life, or embrace a powerful new destiny?

Seraphina was AMAZING! So excited for this sequel.

Yeah, Claudia Gray has been a bit hit and miss with me but that cover might be enough to convince me to give her new book a crack…

  1. Micheline @ Lunar Rainbows Reviews

I’m definitely eager to dig into my copy of A Thousand Pieces of You, man does it ever sound amazing?! And that cover is just gorgeous!! And can you guys believe I still haven’t read Seraphina?! I’ve owned a copy for AGES because hello? Dragons! I was on that the second it came out. And then, I just never got around to it >.< Seeing Shadowscale all around is driving me crazy though, I NEED to catch up before it comes out. Awesome picks ladies, I hope you get your hands on these soon! xx

      Hope you enjoy it!

MICHELINE READ SERAPHINA!!! It’s so amazing, for more than just the dragons. It gave me a book hangover I’m pretty sure.

    • Bec

I’ve read some of her vampire series and they were alright! Haven’t attempted her titanic retelling standalone yet, but I hear it’s good. I hope you enjoy your writing if you do read A Thousand Pieces of You :)

We have been waiting for it for to long. I forced so many people to buy Seraphina! Now I need to force the sequel onto them too XD

    • Bec

A Thousand Pieces of You has a really gorgeous design.

READ SERAPHINA, SOPHIA! Just so you can wait on the sequel with us :P But also because it’s an amazing novel.

  2. Tanja

*high fives* Alise! We have the same pick this week and I mean that cover. I want to buy that book and just have that cover and stare at it. Luckily I have learned from my mistakes and I’m not going to do that. I cannot wait to see reviews for it. Also Bec even though I didn’t love Seraphina I want to read this one! Great picks, ladies :)

That book is bound to find its way onto my shelf just for that cover as well XD How can I resist… I still have yet to learn from such mistakes :/

I’m glad you’re still willing to give the sequel a try despite not loving the first. I hope you enjoy it more than the first book :)

    • Bec

A Thousand Pieces of You is so gorgeous. I just hope it’s as pretty on the inside.

YES READ SERAPHINA! I loved it!

  3. manda | elfswood.blogspot.com

I always love the idea of parallel/alternative worlds, and A Thousand Pieces of You sounds *really* promising. (Plus the cover dazzles me — I’m cheap like that.)

And Shadow Scale.. can I just say AGGHH! 2015? Seriously? I may just need to re-read Seraphina just so I remember all the important bits before going on to the 2nd book.

I love that concept as well but I can’t think of many books I’ve read featuring parallel worlds that I’ve loved (though there is a lot on my tbr…).

The wait for Shadowscale has been a long one. I hope the book is amazing to make up for the wait. But yeah, I’m planning to reread Seraphina if I have the time before picking up the sequel.

  4. Zoe @ The Infinite To-Read Shelf

Alise: OMG YES! I am so anticipating A Thousand Pieces of You too! The concept sounds so unique and intriguing! It kind of reminds me of All Our Yesterdays in a way with the premise, which I absolutely adored as well. I hope we both end up loving this! :D

Bec: I haven’t heard of this series, but I am really intrigued. Stories with dragons in them are always fun to read! ;) Hope you enjoy this as much as you did the first book in the series!

Thanks for sharing both of you, and great choices! <3

I have heard so many good things about All Our Yesterdays and I feel bad about letting it sit on my tbr shelf for so long…

Glad I could introduce you to a really good series then XD The dragons are very unique and it’s actually a brilliant book!

  5. Eugenia @ Genie In A Book

Totally agree with A Thousand Pieces of You – just from the cover and descriptions I can tell that *hopefully* it is going to be AMAZING. I hadn’t heard of Shadow Scale before this post, but it definitely looks like an interesting read as well. Great picks ladies! :)

The wait has been so long… Can’t wait to finally continue the story!

I haven’t read much Claudia Gray but what I have read was alright. Looking forward to trying her new stuff though :D
